Watch the VIDEO REPLAY.
This event was recorded at the New York Society for Ethical Culture in NYC on October 3, 2017 with three original pioneers of the mindfulness movement — Jon Kabat-Zinn, Daniel Goleman, and Richard Davidson — for a one-time only conversation around their extraordinary contributions to mindfulness practice, meditation, and research.
The discussion delves into the science of mindfulness and the potential of mindfulness to create a more hopeful future for individuals and our global community. It also includes questions from the audience.
These innovators of stress-reduction and mind-body health have taken unique but complementary paths. They’ll discuss how their early passion for meditation and mindfulness led to decades of research which has helped hundreds of thousands enrich their lives and improve all aspects of their health. What inspired them to dedicate their lives to this field? What have been the biggest surprises? And how will mindfulness practice, meditation, and stress reduction evolve as we move into the future?
The event was moderated by David Gelles of the New York Times.
Panelists: Jon Kabat-Zinn, creator of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR); Daniel Goleman, author of the New York Times bestseller Emotional Intelligence; Richard Davidson, a pioneering neuroscientist tasked by the Dalai Lama to study the impact that meditation has on the brain.

Finally got this video to play. This presentation was important for me. The candor of these three teachers was overwhelming. The last question about how meditation changed their lives was especially moving….so real…..and might I say, charming. How badly does today’s world need to listen? Very badly, I would say. Thank you for allowing me to watch this.
You only have this moment, this instant, this second. Focus on making each moment as relaxed, peaceful and productive as possible.
Hello
Thank you for yo sharing This important topic
There was so much love and respect wrapped up around Jon, Richie and Dan!. It was beautiful to witness. Thank you for bringing them together and for inviting them to share their life’s passions and “catastrophes”. A phenomenal evening that pulled so much together. Hearing their stories brings another depth and dimension to a practice that is helping the world become a kinder place to live and grow. A bow to them with great gratitude.
I couldn’t listen/watch the live stream and I’m grateful to read that it will be shown later in the week. Thank you for being so generous.

As a cancer patient in Kentucky I was introduced to Mindfulness by my therapist at Norton Cancer Institute. It has changed my life. Thank you for offering this opportunity to those of outside the city.
Jon Kabat-Zinn’s book, “Full Catastrophe Living” and some of his CD’s have formed the backbone of my on-going dance with pain. Thank you, Eileen Fisher, for letting me soak up a little more goodness from some of the best.
I’m also one of those who will be unable to view the live stream. I can’t begin to tell you how grateful I am to be able to view it at a later date. That you for making it possible.
